Trauma can come in the form of a life-threatening experience, exposure to threatening circumstances, or certain types of abuse.
Trauma can carry a wide range of psychological, emotional, relational and health-related consequences for years to come, but these symptoms can be treated through a combination of therapy interventions, and sometimes with the use of medication in addition to therapy.
We understand how complex and complicated addiction can be. We also understand that addiction is not a weakness.
Science suggests that it is a malfunction of the reward, motivation, and memory centers of the brain. Given that, we work to help you identify what triggers your compulsive behaviors, develop strategies to manage these triggers, and work through core issues that fuel your addiction.
The Juniper Center is a long-time leader in providing appropriate and affirming therapy for people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer (LGBTQ).
Whether or not you are seeking counseling for an issue specific to your sexuality or gender identity or you simply want therapy for another matter in an LGBTQ- knowledgeable and welcoming practice, The Juniper Center is the right choice for all of your therapy needs.
Couples, families, and other relationships come in every shape, variety and dynamic. There is no “one size fits all” approach to working through difficulties, but the main priority for all of the couples and families we see is the same: a healthy relationship.
All relationships have struggles from time to time, and people seek out help for a wide range of reasons. The Juniper Center takes great care in approaching your needs in a flexible, compassionate and effective manner.
