Chicago Counseling expands at The Juniper Center

The Juniper Center is pleased to welcome expanded hours for Mark Maluga, PhD, LCPC, at The Juniper Center’s Chicago office at 333 N. Michigan Ave.  Dr. Maluga has been with The Juniper Center since February 2016, offering a broad spectrum of services in an LGBTQ affirming environment.

Dr. Maluga is a clinical psychotherapist and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. His focus is on Health Psychology, working with the mind and body to help those experiencing depression, anxiety bipolar disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), chronic illness and more.

Midday and Evening Hours at Convenient Chicago Office

“Finding a convenient time and location for therapy shouldn’t be a cause of stress. Midday and evening hours in Chicago and near downtown hospitals will help accommodate those working in the area or transitioning to outpatient services,” says Dr. Margo Jacquot, Founder and Director of The Juniper Center. “Dr. Maluga brings a wealth of professional experience and expertise and a kind and caring heart to his work to help the whole person through the process of healing.”

“Psychotherapy can be very empowering,” says Dr. Maluga. “The client is the change agent of their own healing and transformation, utilizing the insight gained from the psychotherapy process.”

Areas of specialization are Health Psychology, mind/body interventions, LGBTQ health (life phases, marginalization, family dynamics, HIV, victims of bullying and couples), co-occurring mental health and medical symptoms (such as the stress of chronic illness or HIV), trauma, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, sexual dysfunction and life transitions.

Dr. Maluga brings over 20 years of experience to his work with The Juniper Center, including work around challenges with behavioral issues and eating disorders, intensive outpatient programs for university-age and adult clients, providing on-site seminars and training and employee assistance program (EAP) services. His extensive research has included Complementary/Integrative Medicine and Spiritual Schema, HIV and Gay Men.

Dr. Maluga provides individual, couple and group psychotherapy services. Treatment is tailored to the specific needs of the client from a holistic perspective. Possible interventions, based on the needs of the client, include
