The Juniper Center announces its newest location in Northfield, IL at 540 Frontage Rd. Suite 2027. Therapists now accepting new patients in Northfield specialize in helping youth who are within the LGBTQ and gender creative communities.

“Sometimes those kids come in to deal with issues connected to being LGBTQ or gender creative and sometimes they are working on other issues not related to that, but they appreciate having a safe space where people understand who they are,” said Dr. Margo Jacquot, Founder and Director of The Juniper Center.

Life changes such as divorce, death of a loved one, a close sibling leaving for college, all may be a time when your child may benefit from short or long term counseling. “A sudden drop in grades, moodiness, a decreased ability to concentrate, these may all be signs of a deeper issue, said Dr. Jacquot.

“While it could be typical for this stage of adolescence, it could also be a sign of an underlying problem.”  The initial evaluation assesses overall health and informs a strategy that we develop together to help your child.

Care for adults is also available at the new Northfield location, including relationship counseling or access to a full psychological evaluation with a Psychiatrist.

The Juniper Center is very insurance friendly. “We accept most major insurance and have a dedicated staff member to help with insurance claims,” said Jacquot.

Therapies available at The Juniper Center in Northfield include Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and the Gottman method for couples counseling, among others.

In addition to working with clients, professionals from The Juniper Center also are available to provide in-service training related to issues effecting youth and teens, including expertise in LGBTQ and sexuality and gender issues.

This can be an issue for schools or other community organizations who need guidance related to bullying prevention, how to create inclusive classrooms or environments and more.

The Juniper Center provides expert, individualized care by 21 therapists in five Chicagoland locations, specializing in trauma recovery, behavioral issues treatment, diverse sexuality and gender identities, and relationship and family therapy.

Founded by Dr. Margo Jacquot in 1996, The Juniper Center provides counseling and psychotherapy, psychiatry and medication management, therapeutic yoga and movement therapy, nutrition consultation, and psychological testing services for all ages.
