May Networking/Learning Meet-up: Marguerite O'Connor on Navigating Stigmatized Death - Counseling & Therapy Services - The Juniper Center

Announcement for May 19 Park Ridge Meet-up with Marguerite O'Connor M.Ed.

How do we navigate a loss when the cause of death is fraught with stigma?  Suicide, homicide and overdosing are all tragic and can make the grieving process infinitely more complicated. Also, if mental illness, gender or sexual identity were part of the mix, who can you tell and what do you say?

Please join us for our monthly networking/learning meeting on Friday, May 19 from 9:30-11 am. This month, Marguerite O’Connor, M.Ed. will be discussing: Navigating Stigmatized Death. From writing obituaries to telling family and friends to digesting the loss themselves, survivors can feel lost, confused and alone.

Marguerite will speak from her extensive experience about how to help loved ones begin to navigate these experiences.

We meet at our Park Ridge location at 1440 Renaissance Dr. Suite 320.  This is a great group of therapists, many of whom cross refer.  All are welcome!
