Angelica is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Master’s in Social Work from Dominican University and a Bachelor’s in Social Work from The University of Alabama. For the past three years, she’s been working at a therapeutic day program in Chicago, working primarily with children ages 6 to 14 who experience autism, anxiety, ADHD, and other social-emotional challenges. Before this, she worked in early intervention in Chicago, supporting young children and their families in building strong emotional and developmental foundations. She also has experience working with caregivers at the VA in Hines, IL, helping them process and supporting them through family hardships and new relationship dynamics.
Her approach to therapy is client-centered and strength-based- she truly believes that every child and family already has so many strengths to build on. Together, she’ll figure out what works best for your child and create goals that feel meaningful and achievable for your family. She wants therapy to feel like a collaborative process, where everyone’s voice is heard and respected. She strives to create a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where kids can express themselves freely and families feel comfortable and included. She hopes that each session helps your child grow in confidence, emotional awareness, and connection with others.
She’s also expanding her work to include art therapy techniques, which can be a wonderful way to help children and families explore feelings related to depression, self-esteem, and relationships. Creativity can open doors to healing that words sometimes can’t—and she’s excited to bring that into her practice.
Above all, she wants every family she works with to know that they are not alone, and that together you can find the path that helps your child—and your whole family—thrive.
“Therapy can be a place to talk, play, and make art while we figure out big feelings together! Sometimes things feel tough, but you don’t have to do it alone—I’m here to grow with you, cheer you on, and help you discover all the amazing things that make you you! Through art, creativity, and teamwork, we’ll find new ways to feel calm, confident, and proud of how far you’ve come.”
