Cy is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a BFA in Musical Theatre from Illinois Wesleyan University and an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University. Having spent more than two decades in the arts, he brings a deep understanding of imagination, introspection, and collaboration to his work with clients.
He approaches therapy as an exploration of the “why” behind patterns and relationship dynamics. Rather than surface-level advice or quick-fix strategies, Cy works with clients to look more closely at the deeper roots of anxiety, depression, trauma, and self-doubt. His approach is psychodynamic and centers on building insight over time, freeing clients to live differently.
Cy works with adults and adolescents and has a particular interest in supporting artists, writers, and performers. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, he is committed to providing affirming care to queer, trans, and non-binary clients.
Personal Quote: “Starting therapy, like any creative work, means taking a risk on the unknown. My job is making that risk feel manageable. Take the first step and reach out. The two of us will take it from there.”
