My approach to therapy is dynamic and client centered. We will work together to decide what modalities will be most effective. Incorporation of techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Relaxation and Stress Management, Psychodynamic Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing. The individuals I work with are the true agents of change, I am just there to help guide, explore, and facilitate the healing/ coping process. The primary goal is always to help folks build upon strengths and positive coping strategies.
I believe in being involved with all levels of the mental health system, not just providing direct services to consumers. I serve as a volunteer with the National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI St. Louis) on both their Program Committee and the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee. Advocacy at the individual, community and government level are crucial in providing mental health services.
