Keenen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who received his Masters in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago where he specialized in mental health, advocacy, and social justice. He is a social justice advocate who promotes educational equity and eliminating health care disparities. Before becoming a licensed counselor he worked as a STEM educator and coached football.
In his clinical practice, Keenen believes it is essential for the mind, body, and spirit to be in alignment to achieve mental acuity. Keenen uses Ecological Systems Theory and person centered approach’s to promote growth and development. He understands that society contributes to a person’s lived experience and factors such as race, gender, culture and ethnicity intersect.
Keenen works with a wide variety of people, but specializes in working with educators, young adults, athletes, first-time parents, and caregivers. He has an expertise in treating mood disorders, intergenerational trauma, life transitions, navigating professional life, and relationships.
