Mariann Smith, LCPC, LMFT, CADC
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor Adler School of Professional Psychology
I began my career working in the field of substance abuse and became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I specialize in working with individuals, families and couples with a multitude of issues including substance abuse, dual diagnosis, life transitions, anxiety, depression, marital problems, premarital issues, newlywed adjustments and child-rearing problems. I integrate a family systems approach addressing the needs of the family and/or couple as they navigate family life cycle transitions and/or the substance abuse recovery process.
I specialize in helping couples/families facing conflict to improve communication and rebuild their relationships. I work with individuals on all phrases of the recovery process. I integrate techniques from Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, Acceptance Commitment Therapies, 12 Step model, motivational interviewing and marital therapies.
In my clinical experience I have developed a strong compassion for understanding the human struggle and quest for knowledge. I believe every person and family has a story, an experience, and a distinct way of viewing and coping with life.
