Shelby Graves, LCPC, ATR

Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Registered Art Therapist

Pronouns: she/her

Shelby prioritizes building a safe, caring, and trusting therapeutic space. Her approach is eclectic and collaborative, tailored to meet each client’s unique needs and goals. As an art therapist, she believes in the power of art to deepen our insights and express ourselves.

As a BIPOC, body-positive, and LGBTQ+ affirming clinician, Shelby supports clients in embracing their cultural, spiritual, and intersectional identities. Her goal is to support clients in reflecting on challenges they face and exploring sustainable and meaningful paths forward. Some of her main clinical interests include cultural issues, life transitions, perfectionism, depression, anxiety, and trauma. She is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and Registered Art Therapist (ATR), with a Master’s in Art Therapy and Counseling from Adler University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Portland State University.

Shelby has experience supporting youth, adults, and families navigating anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, trauma, addiction, and chronic mental illness. Her background is in community mental health, which has informed my work as a systems-focused clinician. Outside of work, she enjoys going to concerts, traveling, reading, and exploring Chicago’s many neighborhoods!

“Seeking therapy and investing in your mental health is a brave and powerful action. My goal is to support you in fostering your strengths, navigating your challenges, and expressing the parts of yourself that need to be heard.”
