Susan has been practicing in the field of social work for 25 years. Susan’s approach is holistic and strength-based. She aims to a create a safe space for those she works with to explore personal struggles and experiences. Susan seeks to help clients gain increased awareness of their emotions and to cope safely and effectively. She believes in the power of individuals to create change through exploration and relationship. Susan also as specialized training in addictions and is a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor. Additionally she is certified in Seeking Safety treatment, which is a treatment for trauma and substance use.
Her areas of clinical interest include but are not limited to treatment for trauma and substance use, gender and sexual identity exploration, LGBTQIA+, managing chronic mental health concerns, family or origin issues as well as integrated co-occurring mental health and physical health concerns.
A Chicago native, Susan a licensed clinical social worker who received her masters degree from Loyola University of Chicago. She has worked with a number of behavioral health social service agencies throughout her career. Additionally, Susan is currently a National Trainer for Seeking Safety treatment through Treatment Innovations.
