Experience a life free of excessive anxiety

Imagine a life free of excess worry, distress, panic and anxiety. While anxiety is a normal part of life, feelings of panic and distress can become chronic. They can cause damage to your physical health, relationships, career, and overall quality of life. If you or your loved ones are suffering from anxiety, you do not have to face your fears alone.

With the right tools and solutions, you can develop strong coping skills to conquer your anxiety to start living your best life – free of excess panic, worry, and fear. At The Juniper Center, our mental health professionals are here to help you during this difficult and challenging time.

What Causes Anxiety?

Anxiety is our body’s emotional and physical response to both real and perceived threats. As part of the body’s natural response to danger, our internal autonomic nervous system includes our “fight or flight” response. For individuals suffering from an anxiety disorder, this stress response either turns on too easily, causing a panic attack, or it stays “turned on” relentlessly, causing chronic stress and worry.

Occasional anxiety is a natural part of life. However, for individuals grappling with anxiety disorders, their source(s) of anxiety can become all-consuming. At best, they live their lives dealing with constant anxiety while experiencing overwhelming feelings of excessive and persistent worrying. When left untreated, these feelings can negatively impact your quality of life, happiness, and mental health. Anxiety can be caused by your life circumstances, such as losing a job or a traumatic event; or you can be biologically predisposed to experiencing undue worry. Either way, there is hope.

What is Anxiety Therapy?

Therapy for anxiety is designed to provide individuals with the coping skills they need to manage, mitigate, and eliminate anxiety. Working together with their therapist, individuals will learn to reduce their physical symptoms, identify their triggers, and learn how to manage the thought patterns causing their anxiety.

Common Symptoms of Anxiety

  • Overwhelming feelings of fear, panic, or dread
  • Excessive fear of illness or death
  • Difficulty falling or staying asleep
  • Challenges controlling worry or fear
  • Feeling restless or wound-up
  • Repetitive and recurring thoughts
  • Lack of concentration on anything other than a source of anxiety
  • Physical symptoms (pain, muscle tension, excessive sweating, low energy, chest pain, fatigue, etc.)
