Autism Support and Counseling

Supporting Individuals and Families with Compassion and Understanding

At The Juniper Center, we provide specialized therapy and support for individuals on the autism spectrum and their families. Our goal is to help each person thrive by building on their unique strengths, developing essential life and social skills, and supporting emotional well-being in a safe, affirming environment.

Understanding Autism

Autism, or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects how a person communicates, interacts with others, and experiences the world around them. It exists on a spectrum, meaning that each person’s experience is unique. Some individuals may need more support with social communication, while others may find sensory experiences overwhelming or have specific behavioral or learning needs. Autism is not something to “fix”—it’s a part of who a person is. The focus of therapy is on support, skill-building, and helping each individual live a fulfilling life on their own terms.

How Therapy Helps Those with Autism

Therapy can play a vital role in helping people with autism and their families navigate challenges and build meaningful skills for daily life. Our therapists use evidence-based approaches tailored to each person’s age, needs, and goals. Therapy may include learning communication strategies, emotional regulation, social connection, and coping tools that promote confidence and independence. We also work closely with caregivers, offering tools and strategies to support their loved ones’ growth and development.

Autism Therapy Can Help With:

  • Building communication and social interaction skills
  • Managing emotions and reducing anxiety
  • Increasing self-awareness and confidence
  • Improving executive functioning and daily routines
  • Developing coping skills for sensory sensitivities
  • Supporting transitions (home, school, work, or community settings)
  • Strengthening family understanding and connection

How The Juniper Center Can Help

At The Juniper Center, our team of compassionate clinicians provides personalized autism therapy for children, teens, and adults. We use a strength-based approach—focusing on what’s working and building from there. Our therapists are trained in evidence-based interventions and neurodiversity-affirming practices that honor each individual’s unique way of thinking, learning, and experiencing the world.
