The Juniper Center Team Community Partner at #YSGNPride Event - Counseling & Therapy Services - The Juniper Center

“We know that queer youth are at higher risk for suicide, behavioral issues, and homelessness compared to their cis-het peers, but what we also know, is what we can do to decrease these risks. Having queer specific support spaces can be LIFE SAVING!  As a clinician at The Juniper Center, I have seen, first-hand, the impact that YSGN’s Pride programming has had on my clients.”

About the YSGN Event

The Juniper Center showed its support as a community partner for Youth Services Community of Pride Event on February 15 at A. Perry Homes in Wilmette, Illinois. This special fundraising evening for Youth Services of Glenview and Northbrook Pride programs brought together the inspiring community that makes their programming unique and accessible for all families and youth who look to them for support.

About Youth Services

Youth Services was founded in 1972 in Glenview and in 1974 in Northbrook as the community’s response to the needs of children. Because both agencies shared the same mission, they merged in 1992. Since that time, Youth Services has grown to offer programs focused on early intervention, intervention, and crisis response.

About Youth Services Pride Programs

The Pride Youth Program offers a variety of opportunities for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and/or transgender youth, and youth who are questioning their sexual and/or gender identities to build relationships, get support, and lead their communities. For more information on current program offerings, including times and locations, please click here or contact Lizzy Appleby, Program Manager, at 847.724.2620 or email at Lizzy.Appleby@ysgn.org
