Women Around the World Recognized at Event in New York City on November 17.

Dr. Margo Jacquot, founder and director of The Juniper Center, has been named the winner of a Gold Stevie® Award in the 14th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business. The Stevie Awards for Women in Business are the world’s top honors for female entrepreneurs, executives, employees and the organizations they run. The 2017 awards received over 1,500 nominations from 25 nations and territories.

“Impressive leadership in the national community,” was the word from one of this year’s judges about Dr. Jacquot. “She is tackling some of the most “hot” topics of our current events, including LGBTQ and brain science, while delivering critical services to her clientele. Her thought leadership around inclusion is relevant and important in today’s climate,” said another judge.

The Juniper Center one of the largest woman-owned therapy practices in the Chicagoland area with 25 therapists at five locations. Dr. Jacquot has clinicians trained in state-of-the-art, evidence-based practices that provide new approaches to help people with mood disorders, trauma, behavioral issues and more.

 

The Juniper Center Recognized for LGBTQ Inclusion, Brain Science, Mentoring

Dr. Jacquot won the top honor as Female Entrepreneur of the Year in the category for Consumer Service businesses with 11 to 2,500 employees. Stevie Award winners were selected by more than 170 executives worldwide who participated in the judging process. Leadership in LGBTQ and Transgender Inclusion, an emphasis on new brain science and her professional mentoring initiatives were all cited as qualities that made Jacquot’s nomination shine.

“It takes an enormous amount of courage against the waves of traditionalism and conservativism in order to bring this up-and-coming scientific/health brain-based science to the public,” said a third judge. “Dr. Margo Jacquot of The Juniper Center is leading the way and doing important work to help those affected by trauma, behavioral issues, sexuality and gender issues to lead better, healthier lives.”

“The judges were so impressed with the accomplishments of all of the Stevie Award-winning women and organizations. Dr. Margo Jacquot is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Certified Supervisory Behavioral Issuess Counselor and Board Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress. She is a national lecturer on trauma recovery, behavioral issues, LGBTQ issues, and working with couples. Dr. Jacquot has taught graduate and post-graduate courses in treating trauma, behavioral issues, couples and families and LGBTQ affirming therapies.

She is Certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a powerful treatment to help people resolve anxiety, panic, depression, phobias, stress and trauma. Dr. Jacquot provides clinical consultation to other therapists regarding treatment as well as mentoring around private practice development and management.  She consults with businesses and community regarding behavioral health and healthy workplace policies. Dr. Jacquot also serves on the board of the Illinois Psychological Association.
