Frank King, the Mental Health Comedian, shares his vulnerability (“It’s my super power,” says Frank.) What is chronic suicidality? Frank shares his personal story of living with chronic suicidal* ideation. “I live in my darkness,” says Frank, “so I can sit with you in yours.”
Frank is a comedian and public speaker, who regularly speaks about suicide prevention. He has said one thing that stops him from his own suicide (the title of one of his talks is “Suicide! The Secret of My Success”) is the hope that through his honesty and transparency he can help others:
- Recognize the prevalence of death by suicide and the importance of prevention practices within the workplace
- Learn the epidemiology, etiology and risk factors of suicidal behavior
- Discover strategies for screening, assessing, and reducing the risk of suicide
