Are you feeling stuck? Do you keep repeating the same mistakes in trying to pursue a dream or a life goal?
There is a method of self-inquiry that can help untangle your unconscious resistance to achieving your life purpose. There is a systematic method for getting your life back on track so that you do not let your dreams and goals slip away.
The Four Desires Approach to Self-Inquiry:
“The Four Desires is the inspiring, empowering and life-changing process, based on these ancient, time-tested teachings created for anyone seeking a better, more fulfilled life. The Four Desires will unleash your vision and power to thrive, show you how to tap into the power of your soul and guide you to become who you were meant to be, the place where worldly and spiritual prosperity meet.”
Rod Stryker, Author, The Four Desires
We need to fulfill these four desires in order to have a balanced and rewarding life:
- The desire for Purpose
- The desire for Pleasure
- The desire for Financial Stability
- The desire for Freedom
To get you there, the Four Desires four-week course will take you through a series of written exercises and meditations in which you will:
- Craft a code that states your life purpose
- Craft a statement that encapsulates your obstacle to that goal
- Choose a goal that can be met within the next 6 to18 months
- Learn to practice deep relaxation
- Change a bad habit that you can realistically change within 40 days
All of these exciting, deep and meaningful exercises will be covered over a four week, once a week class that meets on Saturdays at The Juniper Center. The class starts on Saturday, October 28th 2017. Class meets weekly for four weeks on Saturdays, from 9 to 11:30 AM.
Based on the ancient teachings of the Vedas and the Upanishads, Rod Stryker, one of the US’s preeminent yoga teachers cultivated a method of achieving your soul’s highest purpose in his book, The Four Desires. A work book, The Four Desires Workbook, came out a couple of years after publishing his book. Margaret Berger is a student of Rod Stryker’s and a trained psychotherapist and yoga teacher at The Juniper Center in Park Ridge, IL. Margaret has been training with Rod Stryker to facilitate others in this life changing course. Both the book and the workbook will be required reading for this workshop.
As we humans are creatures of habit (both unproductive and productive), habits of thought and self-image can become so deeply ingrained that it takes some self-reflection to identify the patterns of behavior that need changing. Our brain gets so deeply programmed over time that we forget the optimism and opportunity that helped us stay connected to our dreams and passions.
This is a process for anyone––whether you have never done yoga or you’re an expert––wanting a better, richer, more meaningful life.
