Where Ethical, Moral, and Legal Considerations Converge: Dilemmas in Mental Health Record Keeping
About the Presentation:
On the heels of the August Professional Development Webinar on “Audit-Proofing Your Notes” with lawyer Jonathan Nye, this month we will look at The Ethics of Record Keeping. State and federal laws, as well as all professional associations, generally require maintenance of appropriate records of psychological services. While the nature and extent of the record will vary depending upon the specifics of services and circumstances, this webinar will help mental health clinicians in Illinois be familiar with the requirements of our state and be successful with your record keeping.
- Get guidance to avoid ethics and IDFPR complaints
- Review ethical guidelines and case and record examples
- Understand the Ethics Code of Conduct for each licensed mental health profession (Psychologists, Social Workers, Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists)
- Understand how the code applies to practical situations with example case studies to illustrate the requirements in action.
- This Course meets the State of Illinois Ethics CEU requirement
